Well, winter is finally upon us. Thanksgiving has come and gone, and though it’s snowed once or twice, the ground is still green outside, and most days you can still see it, assuming you’ve kept up on your leaf raking. But that won’t be the case for long, because whether you love it or hate it, snow is on the way, and here at BEAR Water Restoration and Carpet Cleaning, our first order of business is making sure that your home is ready.

Today, we’ll be focusing on an often overlooked aspect of winter home preparation. Throughout the year, the trees and branches surrounding your home can go through a lot of wear and stress from the elements. Whether it was wind during a severe storm, ice from last winter, or even lightning, some branches may be weaker than they were last winter. For this reason, we recommend that you take a quick look around the outside of your home for any damaged branches or trees that look like they could come down on or near your property.

If you find any damaged tree branches or trees themselves looming over your home, you’ll be glad you caught them before the thick of winter hit, and still have time to get them down safely.

Worse case scenario, if a tree branch does happen to fall on your home, BEAR is here to help. Get in contact with us here on our website, or at (989) 631-3267 any time of day, any day of the year, and we’ll be there for you.
